The Voice within the Noise

 The Voice within the Noise

Travelling daily from home to office and back  I pass by SB road  which is one of the most energetic route of Pune city. There are hundreds of two wheeler  , four wheelers , buses and other medium of transport that wait ( not so patiently ) at the red lights hoping to cross the roadblock as soon as possible.

Usually it takes me 20 minutes to cross that path. But today it was a SPECIAL DAY.
Like everyone else , while waiting at the signal , I noticed many activities , such as unnecessary honking , hawkers selling things of little value , riders trying to fit in little spaces between vehicles. But what caught my attention was the increasing traffic , chaos and buzz caused as there was a fleet of red light cars marching through the road. Yes !!! the road had been blocked as some VIP had to attend the emergencies of the nation ( in the attempt to bring back ACHE DIN !!!!)

Along with several others , there was an ambulance waiting in the Traffic  as well. Still I do not understand the need for an ambulance to stop at signals. I guess  this is how life gets stranger day by day . People do not give side to an ambulance as a minute's delay to work would cost them more than the life of a dying person. Although the presence of those few noblemen cannot be denied who prefer to slow down  or exercise the power of their breaks for  others.
In my opinion the cause of concern here is not the fault of the system but  the very virtue taught to us since childhood of getting tasks done deliberately. The scar of a stick no doubt  creates motion but its absence results in stiffness which is why citizens are less responsible towards the society they live in. When the stick disappears we become more carefree , and insignificant towards the matter that does not concern us.

Caught in the rat race the  inability to distinguish the voice (of the ambulance) from the noise (honking and shouting)   grows more and more as time passes by. So it isn't about the bigwigs and their power , it isn't about the executives , it 's about us or rather me ......
We all need to ask this question to ourselves , Can we hear the voice within the noise ???
